1981 Honda CB

Description

Up for auction is a clean 1981 Honda CB900F Super Sport.  This bike had been sitting for several years when I got it.  It had been stored inside in a garage and had been protected from the elements.  The body is in very good shape, no dents or dings in the tank, no cracks in any of the body parts, no broken tabs on the side covers.  Paint overall is very nice for the age with the exception of some small bubbles under the paint on the gas tank.  The gas tank was cleaned, but not coated, fuel switch and fuel lines replaced, carbs professionally rebuilt.  The bike starts right up, idles smoothly.  Everything is in good working order...lights, horn, turn signals, instruments, etc. with the exception of 1 burned out dash bulb (right turn signal).
This bike has been thoroughly cleaned, brake fluid has been flushed, engine oil changed.  The bike runs well, however CV carburetors do not work well with pods and it hesitates a bit going thru the RPM range.  It would probably run great with the correct airbox or a set of race carbs.  I have a partial airbox that is included with the bike.  It is about 95% original, only rear shocks, fuel switch, seat cover and pods are non-OEM.
Would not take much to make it a real nice bike.  All in all, still pretty nice for a 40 year old motorcycle.  Selling at no reserve.
