    Description

This is a quality constructed tailcoat of unknown original use.
Most of the Original Buttons display what appears to be an "A", for which the meaning is a mystery.
Four buttons have a different front logo.
Two are for the GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) and are most certainly replacements and not original to the coat.
This is a very attractive tailcoat and the material is a fine quality wool.
The construction of the coat and its interior are typical of a bygone era...very high quality to say the least.
The condition is quite fine and there is no insect damage, tears, repairs, stains, or obvious wear.
All in all this is a fantastic piece of uniform history.
If anyone knows what its original use was, I would appreciate hearing from you.
Identifying the "A" buttons would tell the story.
    Thanks for looking.
Your reasonable offers will be given sincere consideration.
