Description
This is a remarkably well preserved (although certainly not perfect) Prussian Army Officer's "Uberrock" (Long Frock) Coat as used in the late 1800s up through the turn of the 1900s.The shoulder devices that would have more precisely identified the rank and the unit of the original owner have been removed at some point in the last 100 years.
Fortunately shoulder devices are relatively available and can be reattached.
My guess is that this uniform was intended for a Junior Grade Officer due to the silver rather than gold buttons and the lack of collar edge trim...both of which are present on Higher Grade Officer's uniforms.
The back mark of the buttons is "Extra * Fein".
The tailor's label is unfortunately worn and is largely unreadable.
The waist high hole on the left side is for the attachment of a sword strap through the uniform, or so I believe.
Overall this is a nice example of a Prussian Army Officer's Uniform.
Your reasonable offers are appreciated and will be given serious consideration.
Thank you.
