The set of "G W Simmons & Son, Boston" Buttons all match.

The Tailor's tag is "T W Simmons & Son, Oak Hill, Boston" and indicates made for a "Mr. J O Royell".
The uniform is shown with a pair of US Civil War Militia Epaulettes which are quite likely similar to the epaulettes that originally adorned this uniform and add to the visual impact of this unusual display piece.
